Nightowl Doodles
Welcome! I'm glad you made it into my page! Who am I? Well, I go by the handle Nightowl Doodles, but my name is actually Linsey, and I am a young artist in her 20s doing what she's passionate about and releasing her creations out into the world.
Who really is Nightowl Doodles though? Find out more about her in the section below. But if you wanted to put a face to the name, here's a pic of me!
About The Artist
Name: Linsey Beverly
Handle: Nightowl Doodles
Platforms: Tiktok and Youtube (I also have Instragram but I tend to neglect it, I post more regularly on Tiktok and Youtube)
Age: 24 (was born at the turn of the century, a 2000s baby)
Occupation: Artist/Illustrator (can I say content creator too? I post on Tiktok and Youtube about my art and process)
Mediums: Mainly traditional, my favorite being watercolor paints. Other than watercolors, I frequently use colored pencils, and alcohol-based markers. Every now and then, I'll try something digital but that's not all that often.
Style: I wanna say surrealism, cuz I like to merge a little bit of realism with a little bit of imagination.
Subject Matter: Mainly portraits of people. But every now and then I'll do some animal sketches or something of the like.
Inspirations: Really every day life, there's just so much beauty around us! I do a lot of portraits though which can be inspired by something as abstract as disasters or our solar system to just some eye-catching people, like some of the actors from the Korean dramas I watch or the K-pop groups I stan.
Journey: I started drawing in middle school, just cuz I was put into an art class and my teacher taught me patiently and commended me on my progress which made me feel satisfied. In highschool, I didn't really take any art classes, I actually went to a vocational high school specializing in health sciences, but I continued to draw as a hobby and enjoyed drawing fanart of my favorite cartoons and anime. Art wasn't seen as a logically or valid career choice in my community so I continued in health sciences and got what was expected of me, which was a nursing degree, but throughout college, I still spared time to keep drawing. I graduated and got my degree and license, started working and realized that none of this was what I wanted so I figured I should start taking steps to reach my own dreams and pursue art!
Dream: Just to create and share my creations! I love letting my imagination run wild and create surrealistic style pieces and the cherry on top is being able to share it with others who appreciate it. I felt really inspired to grow as an artist thanks to the artists I used to watch all the time on Youtube and I hope I can inspire other artists as well. One day, though, I would like to make my own art book and even my own illustrated story, but that's way ahead. Right now, I'm just trying to grow my audience and my small business to be able to support myself in pursuing this path.
